Interface Studio

North Delaware Riverfront Rail Stations Urban Design Study
    Philadelphia, PA

Working for the Philadelphia City Planning Commission, Interface Studio led an effort to study the urban design and transit issues for five stations along SEPTA’s northeast corridor R7 rail line.

The plan brought together extensive research on the underlying issues impacting transit use for each station. Physical, environmental, market, traffic, parking and pedestrian conditions were all examined and shared with each community. The final plan identified corridor wide recommendations as well as site specific strategies for adding density and activity around each station. These strategies encompassed incremental solutions for traffic calming, landscaping and public improvements to build the awareness, ridership and, ultimately, market around the stations.
