Interface Studio was engaged by the City of Hamtramck, Michigan, to develop a city-wide comprehensive master plan to help guide public decision-making and local efforts in years to come. With local economic whizzes, Anderson Economic Group, and the transportation gurus at Sam Schwartz Engineering as subconsultants, the Interface Studio-led team engaged residents in creating a vision for the future that responds to this community’s unique and diverse identity. Currently in draft form, the City is ushering the Master Plan through a formal review and adoption process. In the meantime, you can check out some of the ideas from the draft plan by scrolling through the images to the right.
HAMTRAMCK MASTER PLAN COLLABORATIVE MAP!!
Collaborative mapping was one of many public engagement tools used to make use of local knowledge and creativity. Hamtramckans shared their place-specific thoughts about and ideas for how certain locations in Hamtramck could be improved using the collaborative map below. Physical versions of collaborative maps were also installed in City Hall and the Hamtramck Public Library.
